Annual Lectures

The 10th Annual BNAC lecture will be held on Friday, 19 October, 2012, at 6.30pm in Room NAB.1.04 in the New Academic Building, London School of Economics, 54 Lincolns Inn Fields, London WC2A 3LJ. The lecture is entitled 'The Protection of Himalayan Biodiversity: Why a Regional Legal Framework?' and will be delivered by Dr Ananda Mohan Bhattarai, who currently works as a judge in the Court of Appeal of Nepal. The 9th BNAC Annual Lecture was held on Monday 31 October, 2011. This year Dr Anne de Sales of the CNRS in Paris delivered a lecture entitled 'Our god Braha saved us from our wrong thinking: time, identity and historical change in the hills of Nepal'. The venue was the Khalili Lecture Theatre at the School of Oriental and African Studies, in Russell Square, London WC1. The 2010 BNAC Annual Lecture entitled "Legal Pluralism, Cultural Contestation and Gender (In)justice: An Interpretation of Women’s Rights Cases in the Supreme Court of Nepal" delivered by Dr Rajendra Pradhan of the Nepâ School of Social Sciences and Humanities, was held at SOAS on Wednesday, 20 October, Khalili Lecture Theatre.
